Family Story Time- Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m.
 
Young children and their families are invited to join us for stories, songs,
crafts, and other fun activities that help enhance literacy and language comprehension.

Summer Reading Program: June 8th - July 20th
Did you know that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning by the time school starts again? Prevent the "summer slide" by "Reading for the Win" with us this summer! For every five books read, up to 25 books, minors ages 17 and under will receive a prize! 

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Event: Saturday June 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
Join us at the Colton Public Library as we kick off our Summer Reading Program with an amazing Glow Party. Sign-ups for the Summer Reading Program will be available right after, so the fun can continue all summer. 

Family Sing Along Night: Saturday June 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Calling all Cartoon song buffs to come and showcase their singing chops with a fun filled evening of cartoon karaoke. "Be Prepared" for lots of fun and laughs. 

Sundae "Fun Day" Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up Party: Saturday July 20,2019 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Come to the Main Library Branch to celebrate the ending of the Summer Reading Program with a cool treat. All registered participants are welcome to enjoy a fun day away from the sun with a sundae bar, music, and more. 

Chef Alonso's Healthy Cooking Class- Summer Series: June 12th, July 10th, and August 14th at 6:00 p.m.
Come to the Main Library Branch to watch Chef Alonso demonstrate how to put a healthy spin on everyone's summer time favorites. 

Marvel Madness- Movie Night and Costume Contest: August 17, 2019 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Are you really good at cosplaying? Have you ever dreamed of being a superhero? Come dressed as your favorite Marvel character to our movie and costume contest; enjoy a few snacks, and see your favorite characters in action.

Programs and Events at the Luque Library Branch/ Advance to Literacy and Homework Assistance Center

                                                Current Programs

Pre-School Story Time- Mondays at 12:30 p.m.
Children 5 and under along with their families are invited to story time. Each child that attends gets one free book to take home 

Bilingual Pre-School Story Time- Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. 
Young children ages 2-6, and their families are invited to join us for stories, songs, crafts, and other fun activities that help enhance literacy and language comprehension. 

Family Literacy Story Time- Thursdays at 2:30 p.m.
Luque Branch Library presents Family Literacy Story Time. Young children and their families are invited to join us for stories, songs, crafts, and other fun activities that help enhance literacy and language skills. 


Advance to Literacy- Monday through Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
This program gives free tutoring to adults in basic reading and writing. Tutor and learner pairs are matched and are free to meet at time that are convenient for both people

Homework Assistance- Monday through Thursday 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Students in grades up the 8th can find help with their homework. An adult must accompany the minor the entire time they are at the HAC.

Creative Thursdays: June 6th-September 12th 
Select Thursdays starting June 6th through September 12th from 3:00 p.m. to  5:00 p.m., the Luque Library will be hosting Creative Thursdays. This new program is to provide adults a free, hands-on, creative outlet by exposing them to the many creative opportunities the library. city and community partners have to offer. Classes will cover various mediums to allow participants the opportunity to harness their creativity. For more information on exact class dates and to register, please call the Luque Branch Library at (909) 370-5182. 

DMV Written Test Class: June 13, 2019 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Prepare for the DMV test. This class is great for teens, seniors, and everyone in between. Space is limited to 30 people, so sign up early. This class is offered in English. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please do not bring small children to this class. 

Summer Reading Program Event - Afternoon Movie: June 18, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. 
Come join us at the Luque Library Branch as we have an "incredible" as afternoon watching the Incredibles 2. This is a family friendly event and light snacks will be provided. Summer Reading sign-ups and prize redemption services will be available as well.
