Elected City Clerk
The Elected City Clerk has the legal responsibilities described in California Government Code Sections 40800, et seq. Specifically, the City Clerk attends all of the City Council Meetings and keeps accurate records of City Council proceedings as well as oversees City Elections. The Council Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Agendas and Minutes of said meetings are available on our website. This position works with the Chief Deputy City Clerk who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office.

The Office of the City Clerk continues to work hard to streamline processes, taking pride in providing courteous support and accessibility to official records with professionalism and efficiency to your Council Members, the citizens of Colton and to all City departments.

Legislative Assignments
The Office of the City Clerk serves as the filing officer for campaign and conflict of interest statements as required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), prepares and updates the City's Conflict of Interest Code.

City Clerk Programs
The Office of the City Clerk alongside the Council Ad Hoc Committee, have implemented the first City of Colton Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program. Through this program, we are able to create active duty, veteran and memorial banners for Colton military citizens.

Agenda Management
The Office of the City Clerk continues to coordinate the agenda process including posting of the agenda and staff reports to the website and distributing binders as requested by Council.

Records Management
The Office of the City Clerk continues to maintain current logs for Subpoenas, Claims, Summons, Public Records Requests, Resolutions, Ordinances, Contracts and Agreements. Staff continues to keep up with the latest technology and equipment in order to assist departments in completing voluminous projects that include research, printing, folding and mailings.

The Office of the City Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the City’s goal to provide an efficient, highly effective, centralized records management program for the maintenance of City records and legislative history.
