INLAND LIBRARY SYSTEMS WHAT
Fourteen Independent public libraries in San Bernardino, Inyo and Riverside Counties have agreed to cooperate in their efforts to locate, deliver and share their resources to provide total library service to you. Member libraries are connected to each other by means of telecommunication equipment and a delivery system so that your requests for materials or information may be quickly located and sent to you.

SUPPORT
Membership fees and in-kind contributions of local public libraries are supplemented by the California Library Services Act, which provides State funds for system activities.

BORROWING
Patrons with a valid library card from any member library may obtain a library card and borrow materials from any other member library in accordance with their rules and regulations. Material may be returned to any library in the System.

MATERIALS
More than two million volumes are available through the member libraries. Magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, and audio-visual material are also available.

INTER-LIBRARY LOANS
Material not in your library may be requested from other System libraries. It will be delivered to your library by the Inland Library System delivery service and loaned to you according to your library's regulations. System libraries can also borrow other library material from libraries throughout the state and nation.

INTER-LIBRARY REFERENCE
Each of the public libraries in Inland has a special reference collection with trained staff to provide information on a full range of subjects. System libraries have, in addition, collections of local history material and information on California history, tax and business information, genealogy sections, government documents and telephone books for the United States and foreign cities. Each library can refer reference questions to the System Reference Center, if the answer to your questions cannot be located in your library. Librarians at the System Reference Center are specialists at finding information on hard-to-locate subjects and use the libraries of Inland members as well as academies and special libraries that belong to SIRCULS. SIRCULS (San Bernardino, Inyo, Riverside Counties United Library Services) is an organization designed to increase cooperation between all libraries in this region. Questions may also be sent to SCAN (the State of California Answering Network) to be worked on by specialists there. Grant money from the State of California has enabled the Inland Library System to purchase material too expensive or too specialized for any one library to acquire. Information from these sources is shared among Inland Libraries.
